Lenalieva Lenalidomide Capsules IP 5mg are a prescription medication used primarily in the treatment of certain blood cancers and disorders. Lenalidomide is taken orally and is an important part of therapy for conditions such as multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, and mantle cell lymphoma.

Uses of Lenalidomide Capsules IP 5mg:

Multiple Myeloma:
Lenalidomide is commonly prescribed as part of the treatment for multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells. It is often used in combination with other medications such as dexamethasone and is effective in slowing disease progression and improving survival rates.

Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS):
In patients with transfusion-dependent anemia due to low or intermediate-1-risk MDS associated with a deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality, Lenalidomide helps reduce the need for blood transfusions and promotes the production of healthy blood cells.

Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL):
Lenalidomide is indicated for use in relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma in patients who have already undergone previous treatment. It works by affecting the immune system and destroying cancerous cells.

Follicular and Marginal Zone Lymphoma (off-label):
Lenalidomide may also be used off-label in the treatment of follicular lymphoma and marginal zone lymphoma, in combination with rituximab, as part of immunotherapy regimens.

Maintenance Therapy:
For patients who have undergone stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma, Lenalidomide may be prescribed as maintenance therapy to prolong remission and prevent relapse.

Dosage:

Take Lenalidomide Capsules exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not open, crush, or chew the capsules. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response to the medication and blood test results.
