Analieva contains Anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor used in hormone-dependent cancers. It works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which reduces estrogen production in postmenopausal women, slowing the growth of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.

Anastrozole is used for:

1. Breast cancer in postmenopausal women – early-stage or advanced

2. Adjuvant therapy – after surgery to reduce recurrence

3. Metastatic breast cancer – estrogen receptor-positive tumors

Common side effects:

•  Hot flashes

•  Fatigue, weakness

•  Joint and muscle pain

•  Nausea

•  Osteoporosis or bone thinning

Serious side effects:

•  Cardiovascular events (rare)

•  Severe bone fractures

•  Liver function abnormalities

•  Standard dose: 1 mg orally once daily
