ENZALIEVA 40 mg contains Enzalutamide, an oral androgen receptor (AR) inhibitor. It works by blocking androgen receptor signaling at multiple steps—preventing androgen binding, nuclear translocation, and DNA interaction—thereby inhibiting prostate cancer cell growth.

Enzalutamide is indicated for:

1. Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC)

2. Non-metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (nmCRPC)

3. Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC)

 Used along with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) or after surgical castration.

Common side effects:

•  Fatigue

•  Hot flashes

•  Hypertension

•  Decreased appetite

•  Back pain

Neurological effects:

•  Dizziness

•  Headache

Serious side effects:

•  Seizures (rare)

•  Falls and fractures

•  Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES – rare)

 Monitor blood pressure, neurological status, and risk of fall

Standard adult dose:

•  160 mg once daily

 Taken as four 40 mg capsules once daily.

•  Can be taken with or without food

•  Continue ADT during treatment
