Palbolieva (Palbociclib) is an oral targeted anticancer medicine.
It works by inhibiting Cyclin-Dependent Kinases 4 and 6 (CDK4/6), which are responsible for cell-cycle progression from G1 to S phase. By blocking these enzymes, palbociclib slows down the growth and division of cancer cells, especially hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer cells.

It is usually given in combination with hormonal therapy.

Palbolieva Capsules 100 mg are used for:

• Hormone Receptor (HR)–positive, HER2-negative breast cancer

  • Advanced or metastatic breast cancer

• Used in combination with:

  • Aromatase inhibitors (letrozole, anastrozole)

  • Fulvestrant (in patients with disease progression after endocrine therapy)

Common Side Effects

• Neutropenia (low white blood cells – very common)

• Fatigue

• Nausea

• Diarrhea

• Mouth sores

• Hair thinning

• Loss of appetite

Hematological Side Effects

• Anemia

• Thrombocytopenia

Serious Side Effects

• Severe neutropenia → infection risk

• Febrile neutropenia (rare)

• Liver enzyme elevation

• Infections (due to immunosuppression)

Dosage must be prescribed by an oncologist.

Dose Adjustments

• Dose may be reduced to:

  • 100 mg once daily

  • Then 75 mg once daily

• Reduction is required in case of:

  • Neutropenia

  • Other significant toxicities
