Hypercalcemia of malignancy 4. Prevention of pathological fractures 5. Reduction of bone pain in cancer patients 6. Treatment of osteoporosis (specific regimens) |
| Side Effects | Common side effects: • Fever, flu-like symptoms • Bone, joint, or muscle pain • Fatigue • Nausea, vomiting Laboratory abnormalities: • Hypocalcemia • Increased serum creatinine Serious side effects: • Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) • Renal toxicity • Severe hypocalcemia Dental examination recommended before starting therapy. |
