Azalieva (Azacitidine for Injection IP 100mg) is an anti-cancer medication that belongs to the class of DNA methylation inhibitors. It is used to treat certain types of blood and bone marrow cancers by restoring normal gene function and inhibiting the abnormal growth of cells. Azacitidine works by incorporating into RNA and DNA, leading to the death of rapidly dividing cancer cells.
Azalieva is administered either subcutaneously (under the skin) or by intravenous infusion, and treatment is typically provided under close medical supervision.
Uses:
- Treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), including:
